Emma Stone embraces ex-boyfriend Andrew Garfield ahead of 2017 BAFTAs

They might have ended their romance, but it's clear that Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield remain on the very best of terms. The former couple greeted each other with a warm embrace as they attended the pre-2017 BAFTA Nespresso Nominees' Party on Saturday night, wrapping their arms around each other in an affectionate hug at the star-studded Kensington Palace event. Emma, 28, and British star Andrew, 33, first met on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man in 2010 and dated on-and-off until August 2015. Andrew recently admitted that he is Emma's "biggest fan".

The talented actor, who was seen giving Emma a standing ovation when she received her Best Actress Golden Globe last month, said: "We care about each other so much, and that's a given, that's kind of this unconditional thing. There is so much love between us and so much respect. I am her biggest fan as an artist. I'm constantly inspired by her work, and I'm constantly inspired by how she holds and handles herself," he told Variety's podcast. "So for me, it's been bliss to be able to watch her success and watch her bloom into the actress that she is. It's also been a wonderful thing to have that kind of support for each other. It's nothing but a beautiful thing."

Both stars are up for awards at this year's BAFTAs – Emma for her performance in La La Land, and Andrew for his role in Hacksaw Ridge. They were joined by a host of famous faces at Saturday's event. Eddie Redmayne attended with his wife Hannah Bagshawe, and looked dapper in velvet trousers and an overcoat. Gillian Anderson opted for an all-white outfit, featuring a pencil skirt and a peplum top, while Thandie Newton injected a splash of colour in a bold halter neck dress. Amy Adams, meanwhile, chose a fresh and chic off-the-shoulder white lace dress, teamed with black heels.
