Excitement builds for BAFTA nominees at glamorous pre-party

Stars of the silver screen have arrived in London ahead of Sunday night's BAFTA ceremony. Bradley Cooper, Ben Affleck, Marion Cotillard and Sally Field were amongst the excited A-listers celebrating their nominations at one of the film industry's most prestigious ceremonies.

In an array of chic and stylish outfits some of Hollywood's biggest names mingled at Asprey in London, a mile from the Royal Opera, where this year's BAFTAs ceremony will take place.

BAFTA Pre-party

On Sunday Ben and Bradley go head-to-head in the Best Actor category while Marion and Sally are up for Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress respectively.

If he takes the gong, 40-year-old Ben will add to the string of accolades his film Argo has won this awards season. Ben has taken to the stage at the Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild, Directors Guild and Producers Guild awards on behalf of the hostage thriller.

Supporting him along the way has been his wife of seven years, Jennifer Garner, who jetted into Heathrow with her husband earlier this week. Together the couple have three children, some of whom have been leaving dad Ben prominent good luck messages for his recent award nominations.

Bradley's role in The Silver Linings Playbook earned him and his co-star Jennifer Lawrence their BAFTA nods. Jennifer is nominated in Best Actress category as are MarionEmmanuelle Riva, Jessica Chastain and Dame Helen Mirren.

Paris-born Marion, who starred in French film Rust and Bone, sported a chic monochrome outfit at the pre-party, which accessorised with a set of scarlet heels and necklace.

The star studded event also welcomed George Clooney, Andrea Riseborough, Samuel L. Jackson and Alice Eve.

Across the capital parties were held to mark Britain's biggest night in film. Annabel's Club in Mayfair hosted a pre-awards dinner that saw Amy Adams, Tom Cruise, Damian Lewis and Bond girl Naomie Harris pass through its doors.
